The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has unveiled a new ‘Help to Grow’ website, designed to help entrepreneurs progress with their business journey and expand to new markets.
The new site has been created for companies across the UK, in particular small business owners, the self-employed, and startups. It provides businesses with a hub of information and free online resources on a wide range of topics, covering business, finance, growth, and international exports.
One central space
The DBT has recognised increased demand from business owners wanting more readily available resources and says that it hopes having a centralised page will ease the process of finding useful information and business support – housing it all together under one roof.
It’s hoped that the new site will equip business owners with all the necessary tools and support they need to learn new skills, access more customers, and accelerate business profits.
No matter where you are based in the UK, the site will signpost you to the support available in your area. For example, just some of the resources you can find through the website include help with recruiting and hiring staff, accessing financial support, and creating your own international export plan.
Helping businesses achieve global growth
Together with the UK Government, DBT wants to foster economic expansion, in line with the Prime Minister’s 2023 objectives. The ‘Help to Grow’ site will therefore serve as a crucial resource for companies looking to achieve their goals for growth, from starting up to scaling up.
Regardless of where you are on your business journey, the site will offer guidance designed to help you unlock your potential and facilitate expansion be it on a local or global level.
Business and Trade Minister Kevin Hollinrake commented:
“When businesses are given the right tools to grow, it boosts profits, increases well-paid jobs, and lifts the whole UK economy. This Government is committed to supporting small businesses and the self-employed who are at the heart of our communities.
“So, I am pleased to launch the ‘Help to Grow’ website, which will hopefully become a vital tool in helping businesses to thrive and succeed both in the UK and trading across the world.”
Wrapping up
DBT has said they will be dedicated to updating and developing the site on an ongoing basis, taking on board feedback from the UK business community, and working closely with all areas of the government to provide the most useful and relevant information.
The new ‘Help to Grow’ site is now live and can be viewed here.
